Happy New Year! The new year is a fresh start. Now is the time to make your resolutions for 2020. Whether your resolution is to get better grades or eat less junk food, here are some helpful tips on how to follow them.
Strive for a goal that is attainable. If you make an unrealistic resolution you are guaranteed to break it. Decide what you will do if you are tempted to break your resolution. You can call a friend, practice positive self talk, or remind yourself why you are making this resolution. Tell friends and family members as they will be there to support your resolve. Best case scenario is to find a friend who shares your New Year’s resolution and you can motivate each other. Reward yourself with something you enjoy that doesn’t contradict your resolution if you do well. Obsessing over the occasional slip won’t help you achieve your goal. Do the best you can each day, and take one day at a time.

My resolutions for 2020 are to treat others like I would treat my neighbor because we’re all human, learn from my mistakes, pass Spanish, and find that sweater I once saw online.

My new years resolution is to be a more active reader. I would like to read at least one book a month because lately I feel like I have not been reading as much as I should. I also want to draw some more because I have recently gotten back into sketching and painting so it would be nice if I could go out and buy some canvases or something. 🙂
