Among Us is a video game that recently rose in popularity this past month. When it came out in June of 2018, it received little attention, but when a couple of popular twitch streamers recently played the game, it immediately blew up. Among Us can be played with 4-10 people.  Out of those people, 1-3 of them are randomly selected to be an imposter. The imposter’s goal is to kill all of the players without being identified. The game can be played in either a spaceship, a headquarters building, or a planet base. The non imposters/crew-members have to carry out tasks that are like mini games, around the map before the imposter kills all of the players.

The real-life game Mafia was the inspiration for InnerSloth studios to create Among Us. In the beginning of the release of the game, it averaged around 30-50 playing in continuously. Marcus Bromander says that it was mostly because of “really bad marketing”. Nevertheless, today the player count has reached nearly 1.5 million continuous players. Among Us 2 is now expected to come out August of 2021.
