The ring-tailed lemur named Maki recently went missing or possibly stolen. The San Francisco Zoo discovered that Maki was missing on Tuesday, shortly after the zoo opened to the public. Dr. Jason Watters, Vice President of Animal Behavior and Wellness at the zoo, says “We understand that lemurs are adorable animals, but Maki is a highly endangered animal that requires special care. We are asking the public for help in his return.”
Maki is 21 years-old and is the oldest lemurs at the zoo, he has passed the life expectancy of 16.7 years. So, Maki is the zoo’s slowest and easiest to catch, out of their lemurs.
