This 2022 season, the Nebraska Huskers will kick off in Dublin, Ireland against Northwestern. This will be the beginning of the Aer Lingus Football Classic.  Nebraska was originally supposed to go to Ireland in 2021 and play Illinois at the same place, but due to COVID complications it was sadly rescheduled to 2022. “We are excited to reschedule the trip to Ireland for our football program,” Bill moos former athletic director said. “The young men in our program have been looking forward to this current trip and that we are happy to provide them with the most memorable experience possible.” This is also the Huskers first time outside of the United States since the 90s, when Nebraska went to Tokyo, Japan to play against Kansas State in the Coca-Cola Bowl. “The trip to Ireland provides great exposure for the Nebraska football program and a different kind of playing experience for our players and Husker fans,” Nebraska Head Coach Scott Frost said. “Our first focus on the trip will be to play a good football game against one of our outstanding opponents, Northwestern. As well as being a great cultural opportunity for our young men to visit a part of the world that most of them haven’t seen ever.”
