On Tuesday, October 26th Carli Lloyd, American soccer player, played her final U.S Women’s National Team (USWNT) match. Carli Lloyd was subbed out in the 65th minute. She took her cleats off on the field and exited the game for good. The U.S finished the game in a 6-0 win over Korea. While she failed to score, it didn’t affect the fans appreciation of her greatness. 316 games played, 134 goals, 64 assists, and two world cup gold medals over the course of her USWNT career. Carli Lloyd will not play another game for the National Team, but she will continue her soccer career at Gotham FC by finishing out the pro season there before she retires for good at the age of 39. Carli Lloyd was one of the best U.S Women’s soccer players of all time and will never be forgotten.
