Mindfulness From Your Classroom Seat

just breathe!

Anxiety affects every human with any type of struggle, and some even have more than others. Most everyone has had mild anxiety before! For kids in school, you’ve definitely felt that heavy weight on your heart before a test, or when fighting with peers, or even just from being there. Though we have slight anxiety at some times, there are great ways to get rid of this anxiety before it gets worse.

One of the best ways to get rid of anxiety while in class is to do some breathing exercises! Try to lengthen your exhale. Before you take a big, deep breath, try to exhale instead. Push all the air out of your lungs, then simply let your lungs do their work inhaling air. Next, try spending a little bit longer exhaling than you do inhaling. For example, try inhaling for four seconds, then exhale for six.

Do that breathing exercise for 5-6 minutes! It should help with any anxiety you might have that could affect you. So, have you ever been affected by mild anxiety?
